Our Commitment to Clients During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Our Commitment to Clients During the COVID-19 Pandemic

When you first learned you were going to be a parent and you imagined how you would spend your recovery time, there is no way you could have predicted a pandemic to wreak havoc on your birth and postpartum plans.

With hospital visitor limits, weeks of quarantine, drive through baby showers, and introducing your baby to family through windows – it’s surreal to be experiencing pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood through a global crisis such as this. We know how difficult this has been for many families, which is why we have and will continue to offer services through these uncertain times.

The isolation  that occurs during new parenthood is one thing, but to be experiencing it to an extreme during a pandemic is entirely different. For those who may be at heightened risk for a complicated postpartum recovery and possible PMAD, it is important to continue to call on your support systems, and at times, hire those who can be a part of support systems as well. That’s where Madison Newborn Care comes in.

We are pleased to announce that Madison Newborn Care LLC is at full operation as of May 26, 2020.

Families in the Madison area can continue to count on the same high quality care with trusted, experienced professionals who take your family’s safety seriously.

While we cannot guarantee a no-risk scenario, there are a few things that we’ve implemented to help families to make educated decisions about risk/benefits to having postpartum and newborn care services in home at this time.

We are closely following the latest science and CDC guidelines for contact with newborns and new parents and will continue to assess ways to be as safe as possible for your visits. Some examples of this may include:

  • Caregivers and families self monitoring temperature daily and noting any symptoms of illness (this is our illness policy regardless, but amped up now more than ever)

  • Caregivers can change clothes upon arrival, as well as change into dedicated slippers or shoe covers

  • Families may request caregivers wear masks for the entirety of their shift

  • Caregivers can sanitize surfaces touched and use gloves as needed

  • Caregivers will hands frequently, per our usual policy

  • Families may request a single caregiver work with their family and with no other family concurrently

  • Families may request self-isolation periods by the caregiver before beginning services, vaccine status, and other needs

  • Families may request their caregiver be tested for COVID-19 prior to beginning services.

While we understand we cannot eliminate all possible risks, we do recognize the impact sleep deprivation and isolation during postpartum recovery can have on your physical and mental health. At Madison Newborn Care, we’re ready to provide you with the support you need during this overwhelming time while taking precautions to keep your family safe.

Have questions about baby care/parenting? We also offer virtual visits, directly with our family care coordinator. If this is something that interests you, please reach out today
